Weekend Adventure – Lake Norman

Ah, a three day weekend. How refreshing. It’s just enough time to get your life in order, have some fun, and recharge the batteries. If you are following us on Instagram, you know that we have been struggling with time management. There are so many ideas we have, and projects we want to start working on. The issue though, is finding disposable time to tackle everything with. The goods news is that we may have found a system that will keep things running smoothly around here. If it actually works, we’ll do a post later and fill you in. This weekend we headed out for a little fun at Lake Norman State Park.

North Carolina is an outdoor lovers paradise. We have been here for about two years now and still haven’t quite got used to how many trails and recreational activities there are. For example: where we were this weekend, Lake Norman State Park, has 30.5 miles of just single-track trails. They also have another Lake Shore trail that is 6 miles if you have any gas left in the tank. Spoiler alert: we didn’t.

We were supposed to get some heavy rain from Hurricane Nate, but it never ended up getting too crazy. It rained hard on Friday night which unfortunately closed all the mountain biking trails. We were hoping to get some riding in this weekend. Probably a good thing, in the end, because the humidity was out of control. Had to lose the rainfly anytime we could. See the Chacos? Yep, they still come with us everywhere. We’ve been wearing them for about 3 months now and tomorrow might have to be the day they finally get an official “Gear Review”.

We’d like to start dabbling in video in the near future. Our Fuji X100 takes video so we figured why not test it out, and mounted it on the dash. It might work..

Doing any video? Let us know what you are using and how you like it.
